Dear Members of the Nomination Committee,
It’s been truly an honor to be part of CFA Society Emirate’s board for the past 4 years serving as the Vice President of Dubai, and I’d be privileged to re-nominate myself for a new term.
I am an Emirati Finance professional with close to 20 years of professional experience. I am currently leading the Finance function of Al Futtaim’s Real Estate arm in the UAE, which includes sub-sectors in Shopping Centers, Commercial, Residential, Hospitality and Development Infrastructure. Before joining Al Futtaim, I worked in DP World’s Head Office as a Treasury Manager for 2 years, and with EY as an Assistant Manager for 8 years. I am a CFA Charterholder and a CPA from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and have graduated from the American University of Sharjah majoring in Accounting and Finance. I speak fluently in Arabic and English, and have basic skills in French.
During my tenure as the Vice President of the CFA Society Emirates and University Chair, I have been actively contributing to the society’s mandates, with the ultimate objective of serving the members of the Emirates society. Some of the key contributions included:
- Successfully contributed to the CFA Research Challenges for the years 2023/2024/2025.
- Conducted multiple visits to various universities in the UAE to promote the CFA program to the upcoming Finance generation.
- Represented the CFA Society Emirates in the Global SLC held in Montreal, Canada; where I was invited to a panel to talk about the success behind the high retention rate CFA Society Emirates
Over the past term, I believe the board and I have strengthened our connection with the members of the local society base and enhanced the society’s reputation. Our focus on offering continuous events throughout the year paid off quite significantly to ensure a healthy and positive retention rate for the society. Further, we’ve worked closely with other regional societies to uplift the brand’s name and reflect a positive and collaborative unity.
While we’ve made great progress, I believe there’s still much more we can achieve. With our solid foundation, I’m committed to driving this momentum further—through impactful events, top-tier speakers, and deeper member engagement. The next big step is to engage further on the advocacy level and position the society as a solid partner that contributes positively, through the lens of its members, to the local regulatory bodies in the UAE in shaping policies.
